Visitors Rules and Regulations At Katarniaghat Wildlife Sanctuary

Katarniaghat Wildlife Sanctuary has a very strict list of rules following which visitors of the park can pursue in order to make the park safe, the wildlife, and the natural habitat that dwells there. The following rules and regulations are requested to be adhered to by all the tourists visiting the place.

These preventive measures are used in order to keep the ecosystem under addictive balance and also to make sure that the beauty of this special wilderness is enjoyed by the children of the future.

Entry Guidelines

  • The sanctuary can be entered only during regular visiting times and on valid permits granted by the Forest Department.
  • Everyone should also register at the forest gate and possess a government-issued picture identification.
  • Only the specific safari paths and places are allowed as entry spots. Going on the wrong path is strongly discouraged.

Banned Actions

  • Do not make litter within the forest. Bring along any plastic bottles, wrappers, and garbage. Near rest houses, use specific containers of dustbins.
  • No banging of music, shouting, and honking. This is because by remaining silent one is able to have better access to wildlife and the behavior of animals is safeguarded.
  • Never bring firearms, knives, and weapons to any shop.

  • Permanent safaris in the jungle should be taken with authorized gypsys and forest guides.

  • Respect the flora and fauna - do not pull off flowers, or disturb nests- or kill plants.
  • Never ever litter the river or wetlands with food refuse.
  • The visitors are advised to experience eco-tourism in a noteworthy and responsible way and promote the message of conservation.

Children & Senior Citizens

  • Always there should be adult supervision of children.
  • People who come with health conditions are encouraged to see a doctor prior to going on a safari.
  • There can be restrictions on entry in some areas at the peak time of wildlife utilization as a safety precaution.

Legal Action & Notices

  • Any of the rules might be violated which would result in the penalty or ejection from the sanctuary or prosecution under the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972.
